TARGET GROUPS


AMI, focuses on the following target groups:
  • - Community leaders (intellectuals, village elders, abarinzi b'igihango, abayobozi b'amasibo, Inshuti z'umuryango); Couples torn apart by domestic conflict and their children; vulnerable groups (people with wounded hearts, marginalized young mothers and their families, girls at risk, alcoholics and drug addicts, incike, raped minors); Local and hierarchical authorities; Genocide survivors and their families; Prisoners, Ex-Prisoners and their families; Secondary schools and higher academic institutions; Forums, networks, NGOs and advocacy groups claim
  • - Local elected officials
  • - Households torn apart by gender-based violence, including domestic violence.
  • - The marginalized and weak of all kinds:
  • - the heartbroken, the destitute, the oppressed, the young mothers marginalized by their families and communities.
  • - Antagonistic groups because of the genocide and other Rwandan tragedies:
  • - Genocide survivors, genocide prisoners and ex-prisoners and their respective families.
  • - Other stakeholders in the AMI's areas of intervention: The AMI collaborates with state institutions, Rwandan civil society organizations, local and international churches and ecclesiastical institutions.

Regarding collaboration with state actors, the AMI works closely with local authorities at the level of the sectors and districts of intervention, with the authorities of the province where it is based, with the National Commission for Unity and Reconciliation (CNUR), the National Commission of Itorero, the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide (CNLG) as well as the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB). Regarding collaboration with other civil society organizations or institutions œuvrant dans le pays, nous sommes en étroite collaboration avec les organisations telles qu’International Alert, DUTERIMBERE, Never Again, MEMOS, NOYAU DE PAIX, CENTRE NEUROPSYCHIATRIQUE ICYIZERE, CENTRE FOR HEALING THE WOUNDS OF LIFE AND OMMUNITIES, GIZ RWANDA, DIOCESAN COMMISSIONS FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE, UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTES, CHURCHES, ETC. At the international level, The AMI is a member of Pax Christi International, of which it leads the Rwanda branch. The AMI's international technical and financial partners are MISEREOR (Germany), Bread for the World - Protestant Development Service (Germany), Mensen met een Missie (Netherlands), Broederlijk Delen (Belgium), Eirene Switzerland, 11.11.11, RCN Justice and Democracy, Province of East Flanders.
